Vicki and I have been surveying at Catalina Village, an assisted living complex. In one of the casitas is a semi-disabled man and his dog, a rescue named Sidney. Obviously abused when a pup, she is skittish, but quickly warms up when supplied with treats, and Vicki and I came prepared. Don asked if we would like to walk her, and we certainly did, but it was more of a long sniff at every bush than a walk. Sidney is so sweet. We'd adopt her in a second.
I think the managers at the site have helped with Sidney, including her adoption. They knew all about her. When I suggested she needed her nails trimmed they promptly took her to the vet for a grooming.
