For the first leg of our Orcas vacation we flew from Tucson to Phoenix. The schedule said 65 minutes, which I knew couldn't be right because it is only a short flight. The agent told me not to worry, it was only 22 minutes. Strange, I thought. Sure enough, 22 minutes later there we were, in Phoenix, and the pilot announced we would now sit on the tarmac for 45 minutes until a gate opened for us.
Good old US Airways had indeed provided a flight knowing fully well we would be sitting on the tarmac after we landed, hence the scheduled 65 minutes.
