Robert Moran, who came to Orcas to recover his health after a career building battleships, thought big. Really big. Rosario was a huge mansion overlooking the bay. Above it he created Cascade Lake with a dam, and installed big water pipes to bring the water down to Rosario.
They now use municipal water and the pipes are abandoned. Not an eyesore because they are in thick forest which is quickly covering them, and it would be too much of a disruption to remove them now.
